On a clay-limestone terroir around the village of Bégadan, not far from the Gironde estuary, the Patache d'Aux vineyard covers 43 hectares. The grape variety made up of 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, allows the winemaker to play on a wide range to preserve over the different vintages the very personal style of this vintage, which is also believed to be Bourgeois Supérieur. Patache d'Aux wines exhibit an aptitude for aging and it is always astonishing to notice the aromatic freshness and the tannic structure of certain vintages after 10 or 15 years.
