Our Crozes Hermitage La Maurelle cuvée is a tribute to the assets of the Syrah which exclusively composes this cuvée. La Maurelle takes its name from a plant in the sunflower family, used by dyers since the Middle Ages to provide purple colorings with bluish reflections. And she illustrates
Color: Intense garnet red. Nose: black and red berries (blackberries and currants) Palate: The attack is frank and on the freshness of the fruit. There are notes of redcurrant, associated with spices such as white pepper and peppermint providing a pleasant freshness in the mouth. The tannins remain supple and the finish is marked by slightly roasted notes. Nice length on the spices.
This wine will go perfectly with a hare stew, a coq au vin, and any cheese of character.
